why is DNA replication necessary before cell division occurs
why is DNA replication necessary before cell division occurs?
Solution
DNA is the key of all biochemical reactions inside a cell generally (Exception- Cells where genetic material is RNA) . Every daughter cell requires a genetic material to control its own biochemical reactions. Without DNA cell will die. So, before cell division DNA replication takes place in S phase of cell cycle. By replication an exact copy of parental strand is produced. So from a single strand two strands are produced. Then during cell division each cell receives a single copy of the newly synthesized DNA during karyokinesis.
