Many cellular processes invivo or in vitro requires a protein molecule (enzyme) in order to catalyze, speed up the biochemical reaction and support the cell for its metabolism. So this enzyme catalyse a particular reaction by lowering its activation energy. A catalyst may and usually will have different catalytic activity for similar biochemical reactions.A little variation in the temperature say 1⁰ or 2⁰ increases an enzyme catalyzed reaction rate by 10% - 20%.
