Solution

1) JAD : Joint Application Development

JAD is the process where employees(company) and customers group together to come up with different solution which will yield in finalizing the system/application or it also speeds up the formulation of a solution to the information technology problems. Here in JAD requirement elicitation in most favoured nature in which a person can play a multiple role such as scribe/facilitator. Scribe is the one who only collects the information and Facilitator not only collects the information but also make sure that the specified requirement are put in the correct place. Coined by IBM.

2) System Development Life Cycle:

The following are the 6 phases of the system development life cycle with their explanation:

          1) Analysis Phase: The objective of this phase is to conduct a preliminary analysis that is identify the stakeholders and acquiring requirments from them, analysing it properly and a requirement document is prepared(discuss, validate, modify and finalising the requirement document).

          2) Design Phase: The objective of this phase is to transform the elicit requirements that is identified during analysis phase into detailed system architecture by capturing structure and behavour of the software through high level and low level designs such as UML(Unified Modeling Language) diagrams - class, deployment, sequence etc.In this phase data structure details, user interface details and algorithemic details are also collected.

          3) Development Phase : This is the third phase in SDLC where actual coding starts here for developing the software. Releasing version or builds as per the plan, rectify defects or bugs when reported, supporting testers, impementers when required are some of the work are done in this phase.

          4) Testing Phase: The purpose of this phase is to guarentee that the system successfully built and tested to meet all requirements specified in the analysis phase before going into the next phase. This is the phase where functional and non-functional testing are performed such as black box testing, white box testing or through automated testing tools.

          5) Implementation Phase: The major steps involed in this phase are installation of hardware and software ,configuration, demonstrate to the client, train the client, perform the dry run/test run and finally go live.

          6) Support Phase: This is the last and final phase in which ensuring the business continuity and software availability, service level parametrs, supporting end users and escalating the issues. Bug fixing, upgrading, taking backup and enhancement are done in this phase.

3) The activities involved in the project planning are:

i) Identification of project requirements

ii) Resource planning

iii) Cost estimates

iv) Identifying the risk and its management

v) Success criteria

vi) Project charter/authority or consent

vii) Preparation of project plan and

viii) commencement of project
