     GEOMETRY -Alternate Exam 3 Continued Items 21-27: Refer to the graph space on the right. 21. Line k has x-intercept and y-intercept 22. The slope of line kiss 23. Write the equation of line kin slope-intercept form 24. Write the equation for line kin standard form (Ax+By C. 25. Draw line WB and prove 26. On the griph draw a linejthrough point A parallel to line k. 27. Find the distance between line j and line k.

  Solution
21. Line k has x intercept as (6,0) and y intercept as (0,- 3).
22. Since points (6,0) and (0,- 3) lies on the line k,
So slope is (y2-y1)/(x2- x1) = ( - 3 - 0)/( 0 - 6) = - 3/ (-6) = 1/2
23. Since y inntercept is - 3. So b = -3, and m = 1/2
Thus, y = (1/2)x - 3
24. Consider y = (1/2)x - 3
multiply both sides by 2, we get
2y = x - 3
or x - 2y = 3, here A= 1, B=-2 , C= 3
