square root law if nsample size is much smaller than the squ
square root law: if n(sample size) is much smaller than the square root of N (population) then it is unlikely that the same observation is drawn twice. Check this out by drawing a sample of 50 from a population size of 10,000. Using a random number table.
I\'m not sure how I should start this problem and which numbers to choose
Solution
Hi!
Just randomly pick 50 random numbers in this random number table.
Maybe you can use your pen to point on a number while not looking at the page.
See if there is any number repeated out of the 50.
You will realize that since there are 350 numbers here (is there a second page for this?), then it is unlikely that you get 2 numbers that are the same. That\'s the point of the experiment.
Thanks!
