A second plane starts at the same point and takes off at the same time. It is known that after 3 hours, the two planes are 2100 miles apart. Find the original bearing of the second plane, to the nearest hundredth of a degree.

Solution

diatnce by 1st plane =350*3 = 1050

since the distance between them is 2100 it means other plane has same speed

so tna = 45 degrees as tan theta = 1050/1050 = 1

theta = 45 degrees NE
