What are the steps and products of glucose catabolism lipid

What are the steps and products of glucose catabolism, lipid catabolism, protein catabolism? where do they go ?

Solution

Glucose catabolised and gives pyruvate by glycolysis that occur in Cytoplasm. Then the pyruvate enter into mitochondria as acetyl co-A under gone Krebs cycle. Due to this NADH & FADH2 produced, which are enter into Electron transport chain and finally produce ATP. Some cases in cytosol glucose under go pentose phosphate pathway and produce 5 carbon sugars, act as precursors for Nuclei c acids. Lipids upon catabolised in the mitochondria and produce Acetyl Co A by Beta oxidation, that are precursors for Krebs cycle and Electron transport chain. Proteins also undergo catabolism and produce Krebs cycle intermediate s and nitrogen wastes.
