If I completed 103 college credits with total points of 3555

If I completed 103 college credits with total points of 355.50 = 3.55 GPA I have 13 credits total points of 52 for a 4.0 GPA school #@ however, it I add them together I have 116 credits 407.50 points for a 3.51 GPA which doesn\'t make sense? Should the GPA be higher than the 3.55 GPA?

Solution

The grade point average (GPA) is calculated by dividing the total amount of grade points earned, by the total amount of credit hours attempted. Therefore, if one has completed 103 college credits with total points of 355.50 , the GPA will be 355.50/103 = 3.45 and NOT 3.55. Now, if one also has 13 credits total points of 52 for a 4.0 GPA school , then, if we add these together, then there are 103 + 13 = 116 credits and 355.5 + 52 = 407.5 points which lead to a GPA of 407.5/ 116 = 3.51 which makes sense. The GPA in college should , thus, be lower and NOT higher than the erroneosly computed 3.55 GPA

If I completed 103 college credits with total points of 355.50 = 3.55 GPA I have 13 credits total points of 52 for a 4.0 GPA school #@ however, it I add them to
