Biologists stocked a pond with 500 tadpoles and estimated the maximum sustainable tadpole population for the pond to be 6000. After one year, the tadpole population tripled. How long will it take to have 3000 tadpoles in the pond?

Solution

after 1 year the population has beed tripled .so, it becomes 1500(3*times of 500)

and for the next year the population again gets tripled.so,it will become 4500 (3*times 1500)

but the question is how much time to have 3000 tadpoles.

so in the second year during the first half 1500 ----->3000 and during the second half 3000----> 4500 and at the end of year population gets tripled.

so for the tadpoles to become 3000 it require 1year ans six months
