What is the frequency of the output signal? Why do we claim that the output signal Is approximately a square wave? What is the status of the output when the capacitor is charging from V_infinity/3?

Solution

A)

Frquency= 1/T = 1.44/(R1+R2*2)*C1. =685.7HZ

B)when the capacitor is charging, the output signal goes high. When the capacitor begins to discharge, output goes low. So we claim that the output of the 555 timer is almost square wave.

3)The trigger input is initially high (about 1/3 of +V). When a negative-going trigger pulse is applied to the trigger input the threshold on the lower comparator is exceeded. The lower comparator, therefore, sets the flip-flop. That causes T1 to cut off, acting as an open circuit. The setting of the flip-flop also causes a positive-going output level which is the beginning of the output timing pulse.
