Fluid mechanics

Is flow through a gel dominated by viscous or inertial stresses? Is the Reynolds number large or small, compared to one? Explain your answers.

Solution

due to having very large viscosity gel has property to adhere a surface or any thing and become motionless until a external force may not be applied on it or until it may not experience a external force due to its weight. hence gel is dominated by inertial stress. because its viscosity is verry large so its reynold numberi will also be very large.
