What forms does DNA come in A EDNA and FDNA B BDNA and GDNA

What forms does DNA come in?

A) E-DNA and F-DNA

B) B-DNA and G-DNA

C) P-DNA and O-DNA

D) A-DNA and Z-DNA

E) C-DNA and Y-DNA

Solution

D) A-DNA and Z-DNA

A form, B form and the Z form of DNA are the three major types of DNA found of which the B form of the DNA is the most common form.Difference between the A form,B from and Z form.

A from and B from differ in the conformation of the deoxyribose sugar. It is C2\' endoconformation in the B form and the bases are centered over the helical axis , while in the A form the the endoconformation of deoxyribose sugar is C3\' and the bases are away from the central axis and are closer to the major groove.

The Z from of DNA is a left handed helix and has C3\' endoconformation like the A form and has a zig zag pattern in the phosphate sugar backbone.
