Find the solution of the exponential equation in terms of logarithms, or correct to four decimal places. x = e^1-4x = 9

Solution

Given that  

   e^1-4x = 9

Take logarithm (base e) on both sides,

log_e e^1-4x = log_e9

(1-4x) log_ee = 2.2

1-4x = 2.2

4x = -1.2

x = -0.3

Therefore,

   x = -0.3
