Solution

Answer iii)

Camille should take the standard deduction instead of the itemized deduction.

As she can claim higher of both a) the standard deduction I.e, $6,350/- or b) itemized deduction $ 2,600/-

Hence deduction claim will be standard deduction $6,350/-

Answer iv)

Yes, Kaly qualifies as a dependent of Camille.

A dependent is someone you support and for whom you can claim a dependency exemption. In 2017, each dependent you claim entitles you to receive a $4,050 reduction in your taxable income. You may also receive a tax credit of up to $1,000 for each dependent child under the age of 17.

As she is below 17 years old and lived with her mom, she will be treated as a dependent child.
