1 Discuss the properties of an ideal opamp and compare these

1. Discuss the properties of an ideal op-amp and compare these properties to those of a 741C op-amp.

2. Discuss how the frequency of the input signal to an op-amp affects the voltage gain.

No hand written answer please!

Solution

IDEAL OP AMP characterestics are

1) It has infinite Voltage gain

2) It has infinite Input Impedence

3) It has zero Output impedence

4) CMRR(Common mode Rejection Ratio) value should be infinite

5) PSRR (Power Supply Rejection Ratio) value should be infinite

6) Zero offset voltage

7) Zero noise levels

Incase of a 741 IC

1) Voltage gain should 2,00,000

2) 741 IC has as input resistance of 2MegaOhm

3) Output Resistance is 75Ohm

4) CMRR is around 90dB

5) PSRR is 150MicroV/V

6) Input offset voltage lowest is 15microvolt

7)Slew rate is 0.5V/Microsec

2)

Frequency effects the voltage gain of the Amplifier

Voltage gain is the ratio of output voltage to the input voltage which are depends upon the frequency

GAIN BAND WIDTH product should be constant

GAIN*BW=constant

BW is nothing but a frequency range

Hence, gain is inversly propotional to the frequency

1. Discuss the properties of an ideal op-amp and compare these properties to those of a 741C op-amp. 2. Discuss how the frequency of the input signal to an op-a
