Introduction:

Nestle is a Swiss multinational food and beverage company having headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland and this company considered as largest food company in the world.

Decentralized :

Nestle is one of the world’s most decentralized companies, With few levels of management, local employees, project teams, and task forces make personnel, marketing and product policies and decisions. Member of Nestle’s management, at all levels, are strongly committed to the company, its development, and the culture that the Nestle management and leadership principles express. So Nestle company think to hit Global project.

Global Project:

Its goals is to centralize the company’s information technology centers around the world into five data centers and establish a common IT platform allowing the firm to consolidate and standardize its global business process without losing the benefits of its decentralized management structure. To achieve the goal, Nestle needs to co-ordinate all of its suppliers, customers, and product data for its operations worldwide.

Nestle is also restructuring some parts of the business and focusing on health and nutrition. Along with centralization its IT operations while maintaining IT operations while maintaining its decentralized managerial structure, Nestle managers hope to transform Nestle into Nutrition, health, and wellness company, with stronger innovation and branding along with improved efficiency.

Challenge.

   In may 2006, Nestle’s Executive Board decided to adapt the existing Nestle management systems to full conformity with the international standards   ISO 14001 (environmental management) and OHSAS 18001 to certify all nestle factories against these standards to attain its global project. So nestle management needs external support for global project as well as their new project Nutrition, Health and wellness division.

Finally 850 certificates in hand by the end of 2009. Nestle company expected to all factory certification by the end of 2010.
