Fluoresce in dye is a useful chemical both within biology and environmental ecology. It can be used to track the flow of water and fluid within an organism body and within bodies of water like rivers. It fluoresces a brilliant, bright green when exposed to UV light and has a peak absorbance at a wavelength of 480nm. It can be assumed that when tracking water flow: the lower the concentration of fluorescent in a sample, the farther away it is from the source. The table included was produced by measuring different concentrations of a fluorescent solution and measuring its absorbance in a spectrophotometer. Using the table, construct a standard curve to determine the concentrations of 5 unknown samples of fluorescent given their absorbance. Calculate the unknown sample concentrations using the straight-line relationship (y = mx + b) in excel or other graphing software, round to 1 decimal place (00.0) and enter these concentrations in the space provided. Provide your line equation in the space below:

We have formed graph using excel sheet scatted diagram with x axis as Concentration and y axis as Absorbance.

We have put formaula as Concentration = TREND(B2:B11,C2:C11,C15) for each unknown Absorbance changing the C15 to D15 / E15/F15/G15. Here C15 = .2 , B2:B11 are x axis values and C2:C11 are y axis values.

sample Fluorescein(µM) Absorbance (480 nm)
1 5 0.054
2 10 0.094
3 15 0.16
4 20 0.19
5 25 0.26
6 30 0.29
7 35 0.36
8 40 0.385
9 45 0.465
10 50 0.49
