A circular cylindrical water tank is filled with water to 75

A circular cylindrical water tank is filled with water to 75 percent of its total volume of V cubic inches. The radius of the tank is 6 inches, and the height of the tank is h inches. Which of the following represents the height, in inches, of the water in the tank?

Solution

The volume of the tank is ?(6)2h = V or, 36? h = V . Therefore h = V/36? ….(1).

Since the tank is filled upto 75 % of its volume, the height of water in the tank is 75 % of h = 75/100 h = 75/100 (V/36?) = ¾( V/36?) = V/48?. Thus the answer is (E).
