In a two-tailed hypothesis test situation, the test statistic is determined to be z = -1.5. The p-value for this test is
In this case P-value for z=-1.5 is .0668 but I am wondering if the test is asking for both upper and lower tail values combined or if it is asking only for the lower tail p value.
Solution
p-value for 2 tailed test is equal to 2 times the p-value of one tailed test in direction of test statistic. So, 2-tailed test\'s p-value = 2 * p-value corresponding to left tailed test since test statistic is negative.
