Bit rate is a measure of the number of data bits(o\'s and 1\'s)transmitted in one second.A figure of 143 bits per second means 143 zeros or ones can be transmitted in one second,hence the bit rate

whereas baud rate means the number of times a signl in a communications channel changes its state.
