Write an equation that represents the relationship between t

Write an equation that represents the relationship between the given variables. Use k as the variation constant. A varies jointly as b and the square of c. The pressure a liquid exerts at a given on a point on a submarine is directly proportional to the depth of the point below the surface of the liquid. If the pressure pounds per square foot, find the pressure at a depth of 7 feet. lb/ft^2

Solution

1) A varies jointly with b and c^2

A = kbc^2 where k is a constant

2) Pressure is directly propetion al to depth

So, P1/P2 = d1/d2

P1 = 125 pounds/ft^2 ; d1 = 2 ft ; P2 = ??; d2 = 7 ft

So, P2 = P1*d2/d1 = = 125*7/2 = 437.5  pounds/ft^2

P2 = 437.5  pounds/ft^2
