1 What is the value of the colllector current in milliamps 2

1. What is the value of the colllector current in milliamps?

2. If the transistor has B = 100, compute the current flowing in the base in microamps?

3. Now compute the value of R2 that will actually give the base current for the 3V source and assuming that you have a base voltage of 0.7V.
R1 100 V1 Switch R2 / QI V2 3V This circuit is the same circuit as in HW #4 except for: RI is now 100 . R2\'s value is not specified . There is a switch in the base circuitry

Solution

1)

Ic=V1/R1=10/100ohm=0.1 Amp

2)

Ib=Ic/B=0.1/100=1mAamp (or)=0.001Amp

3)Apply KVL in Base emitter loop

3V=IbR2+Vbe

R2=V2-Vbe/Ib=3/1mA=3Kohm

R2=3-0.7/1mA=2.3Kohm

R2=2.3kohm
