When a hologram is produced, the system (including light source, object, beam splitter, and so on) must be held motionless within a quarter of the light\'s wavelength. Why?

Ordinary photograph gives a two dimensional image of object, but Hologram provides 3D images. Holography implements principle of Interference of light. Here two beams on directly from source and other from reflected by object. Both interfer on plate and produce interference pattern.

The condition for constructive and destructive interference depends on path difference, as path changes phase changes.
