Suppose logb x 2 and logb 3 7 Evaluate logb b3 x9SolutionG

Suppose log_b x = 2 and log_b 3 = 7. Evaluate log_b (b^3 x/9).

Solution

Given : logbx = 2 and ; logb3 = 7

logb{b(x)^1/3/9 }

logbb + logb(x)^1/3 - logb(9) ( Expanding the terms using property : loga*b/c = loga +logb - logc )

1 + (1/3) logbx - logb(3)^2 ( Use log property loga^x= xloga )

Sustitute the given values in question:

1 + (1/3)(2) - 2 logb(3)

1+ 2/3 - 2*7

= ( 3+2 -42)/3

= -37/3
