How much power is required by two 10cm diameter wing mirrors for an automobile speed of l00km/hr. Air flows over a flat plate at a freest ream speed of 15 m/s. Assuming turbulent flow with a 1/7 power law profile, a plate length of lm and plate breadth b. Using the momentum integral method find an expression for the drag force acting on the plate in terms of the boundary layer thickness at x = lm. Using the drag coefficient for a flat plate and (i) above find the boundary layer thickness at x = lm. Using (i) and (ii) find r_u, at x = lm. Sketch the time average flow at high Reynolds number over the two bodies shown below. On a separate graph sketch the approximate pressure distribution over the bodies from the center of the front face to the center of the rear face.
