Comment on: ”Some researchers believe sports participation might shape various personality traits, other researchers believe we participate in sports because of our personality type”. In essence, this is the nature - nurture debate. How would this affect marketing strategy?

Solution

In the first case more people would be recruited in defence and military services as people would encourage their children to take part in sports. Health and nutrition would improve as well as purchase of sports equipment. The longevity would increase and the population. Hence the output would increase with more working hours.

In the second case, more people of a tall and hefty build would get employment in sports and sports related fields and they would also prosper. There would be increase in armed forces from tall and hefty regions. Eskimos would be given preference.
