If we write the following complex number in standard form (square root 3 + squareroot 5 i) (Squareroot 3 - squareroot 5 i) = a + bi then Your answers here have to be simplified so that they are just numbers.

Solution

( sqrt3 + sqrt5i)( sqrt3 - sqrt5i)

expanding the above expression : sqrt3*sqrt3 -isqrt3*sqrt5 + isqrt3*sqrt5 - sqrt5*sqrt5*i*i

= 3 - (-1)*(5) ------> ( i*i = -1)

= 8

a +ib = 8 +i*0

a = 8 ; b= 0
