Find out i for t > 0 in the circuit shown in Figure 1.

Solution

Under DC supply for t>0 capacitor act as open circuit and inductor act as short circuit.

So current i will flow from 20 volts to 6 ohms to 4 ohms and then to 20 volts again forms loop.

So current i = 20/(6+4)ohm

= 20/10

=2 amperes

therefore i= 2 Amperes
