Lay out a twopiece 90 degree turn on 4in pipe See Fig 52 Fol

Lay out a two-piece 90 degree turn on 4-in pipe. (See Fig. 52) Follow the above procedure. Note the following: in step 3- Angle of cut = number of degrees of turn/number of welds times 2 Angle of cut = 90/2 times 1 = 45 degree In step 4- A and B = O.D. of pipe times factor for angle of cut/2 Factor for 45 degree angle of cut = 1,000 (See table on p.77.) A and B = 4.5 times 1.0000/2 = 4.5/2 = 2.25 in. or 2 /4 in. Look at this two- piece 90 degree turn. The pipe is 6 inches. What is the value of A and B? A. 6 5/8 inches B. 3 inches C. 6 inches D. 3 5/16 inches

Solution

Angle of Cut=number of degree of turn/(number of weld*2)

=90(2*1)=45deg

A and B = (O.D of pipe *factor of angle of cut)/2

Factor of angle of cut for 45deg is 1.00

so, A and B = (6*1)/2=3inch

A and B= 3inches

Lay out a two-piece 90 degree turn on 4-in pipe. (See Fig. 52) Follow the above procedure. Note the following: in step 3- Angle of cut = number of degrees of t
