Evaluate the following lim x INFINITY 2X5X25X4 I got as far

Evaluate the following: lim x-> -INFINITY (2X+5)/(X^2-5X+4)

I got as far as dividing both by x^2. I don\'t know what to do w/ the factor where x^2 does not divide evenly (would it also just equal 0 as where x= +INFINITY). I also wonder is finding the answer any different from w/ x->+INFINITY?

Solution

Since degree of numerator < Denominator Limit to infinity = 0
Evaluate the following: lim x-> -INFINITY (2X+5)/(X^2-5X+4) I got as far as dividing both by x^2. I don\'t know what to do w/ the factor where x^2 does not d
