Simplify if possible If its not state why 3x 2x 2 3x2x 5x

Simplify, if possible. If it\'s not, state why. 3x + 2/x - 2 3x/2x 5x + 1/x 3x - 2/x - 5 x - 3/x + 4 squareroot(x^2) squareroot(x^4) squareroot(x^2 + 9) squareroot(9)

Solution

1. (3x+2) / (x-2)

this expression cannot be simplified further

as there are no common terms on top and bottom

2.   3x/2x

as x is common on top and bottom both so we can cancel it out

therefore it becomes

3 / 2

3. (5x+1) / x

again in this expression there is no factor which is common on top and bottom both

so we cannot simplify this expression further

4. (3x-2) / (x-5)

again it canot be simplified further

5) (x-3) / (x+4)

it cannot be simplified further

6. sqrt (x^2)

sqrt also means raised to power 1/2

s we can write

(x^2)^1/2

multiplying the two exponents together

we get

x^1 = x

therefore,

sqrt (x^2) = x

 Simplify, if possible. If it\'s not, state why. 3x + 2/x - 2 3x/2x 5x + 1/x 3x - 2/x - 5 x - 3/x + 4 squareroot(x^2) squareroot(x^4) squareroot(x^2 + 9) square
