Solution

f(x) = -3x +4 , g(x) = 2x+5

a) (f +g)(x) = -3x +4 + 2x+5 = -x +9

b) (f -g)(x) = -3x +4 - 2x-5 = -5x -1

c) (fg)(x) = (-3x +4)(2x +5) = -6x² -15x +8x +20

==> (fg)(x) = -6x² -7x + 20

d) (f/g)(x) = (-3x +4)/(2x +5)     for x -5/2
