A cow is tethered to one corner of a square barn, 12 feet by 12 feet, with a rope 110 feet long (See the illustration to the right.) What is the maximum grazing area for the cow?
Solution
for the given situation maximum rope length required to graze the entire barn is equal to the diagonal length of the barn which is 12*2 . And rope which we have is 110 ft which is larger than required length. So the cow will graze the entire area.
