Determine the power supplied to a R1 b R2 and c R3SolutionLe

Determine the power supplied to (a) R1, (b) R2, and (c) R3.

Solution

Let: R1=R2=R3 = 576 Ohms

power:P = V²/R = I²R

the resistors R2, R3 are connected in in parallel,

so the equivalent resistance is, 288 ohms.

This resistance series with 576 , so the equivalent

resistance of the circuit is, 864 ohms.

the total current in the circuit: I = 120/864 = 0.1389 A.

Current through R1 is, I = 120/864 = 0.1389 A.

so, the current in R2 and R3 is, I = 0.0694 A

power P1 = I²R = [0.1389]^2*576 = 11.11 W
Power: P2 = P3 = (0.0694)^2*576 = 2.77 W

Determine the power supplied to (a) R1, (b) R2, and (c) R3.SolutionLet: R1=R2=R3 = 576 Ohms power:P = V²/R = I²R the resistors R2, R3 are connected in in parall
