Effective change management program is that strategic initiative that prepares organization to combat threats emerging from the changing business environment and give sustainability to the organization. First most important element of the change program is the scanning of internal and external business environment. It is done through PESTEL analysis of external business environment and SWOT analysis of the organization. It gives inputs related the flexibly and unpredictability of business environment as well as arising threats and opportunities on the basis of organizational strength and weaknesses.

Second element is the selection of change management approach. Planned change is suitable in those circumstances where business environment is stable. In dynamic and fast changing business environment, best approach to change is emergent change approach. It is chaotic in nature but it is evolving and makes organization ready for all threats.

Third element is making of organization ready for the change. Different elements of organization such as people, Technology and organizational structure are readied for the change with participatory and inclusive engagement. Fourth element is the implementation of change management and stabilization of organization so that organization goes back to normalcy and gives higher efficiency and productivity.

After environmental scanning, I will choose the best possible approach to change management. After this, I will take people / employees in to confidence and I will change the organizational structure through participation from all sections of employees with the help of technology. Once the structure will be unfreezed, it will be reorganized and then refreezed. Here, study of organization is very important otherwise it can create big confusion and all initiatives can cause moral down for employees. Thus, taking employees in to confidence is very important. It is very important to make them understand the need of change for development and sustainability.
