respiration is a process of exchange of gases i.e.,inhaling oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide.

firstly the chest cavity expands during the process of respiration where a pressure is created in the pleural cavity, which in turn forcesthe lungs to expand. after this the air pressure is reduced in the lungs, which allows inhaling of oygen from the environment. this inhaling happens through the nose wher the nasal cavity fikters the air from impurities, it is then passed doen to the throat and then the next stage is it enters into the trachea and then the air passes into the bronchi, then the air passes through the bronchioles and then it enters into the lungs. the exchange of gases takes palce in the air sacs which is present in the lungs. then the respiratory muscles relac and teh chhest cavity contracts . later the lungs also contracts and exhling of carndioxide takes place.
