How has the traditional system development life cycle change

How has the traditional system development life cycle changed in an agile environment?

Solution

Traditional development life cycles involves the engineering based approach for the development. Traditionsl method are driven by plan like waterfall, spiral and rapid prototype models. All these models are elaborately defined, measured, and controlled to minimize variations.

we have many limitations of traditional life cycle such as Cost, End-User involvement, flexibility for development and moreover in traditional system we assume that problems are well defined and results are well predicted but as the system is changing completely now the customer satisfaction is more important and requirements changes repeatedly and documentation was also an importanat factor to maintain.

To overcome from this process-ecentric models, we developed the new life cycle as \'Agile methodology\'.

Agile Development: in this development cycle customer involvement is always included on each phase. their feedback is always welcomed.

In Agile cycles are short and iterative, they provide the necessary flexibility and speed to adapt to changes in requirements through constant feedback from the customers.

Cost was the key issue in traditional especially the reworking. but as the cycles are small in agile and we always s takecustomer feedback. so rwork will be less and cost will be less.
