Is biology becoming more interesting to you as you learn about the workings of the cell and how cells interact in an organism?

What have you learned about cells that surprises or horrifies you?

Why?

What concerns or questions do you have about Cells?

Solution

The cells in an organism form the tissues. The tissues together form the organ and the organs form the organ systems. The organ systems such as digestive, respiratory, excretory, and nervous and so many other systems together form the organism. The cells which are individual and independent can do so many metabolic, signaling, secreting functions and can cooperate with the surrounding cells in doing the routine functions smoothly within an organ. The cells have again different shapes, sizes and functions. For example the nerve cell and the lung cell both differ in their structure and function. Whatever it is all the cells have been made of polysaccharides, lipids, proteins. The cells have the capacity of repairing, dividing and lysis. A cell divides and produces new cells. After several cell divisions, a cell lyses. If a cell gets damaged, wounded, cell can able to repair itself. If we have question, whether a cell can think, yes it can as like a brain while performing its function. A lung cell can accompany oxygen to blood, a liver cell can store glycogen, a nerve cell can carry a stimulus and mitochondria within a cell can help in producing energy. A cell can act as a suicidal bag or a cell can fight with foreign bodies.
