It would reduce competition among plants for a variety of requirements such as water, soil and mineral nutrients.

It would also reduce the spread of diseases that might occur in overcrowding of plants.

Seed dispersal can occur through a variety of ways such as

1. Dispersal through wind : the seeds might be carried forward due to the heavy flow of wind e.g. Dandelions

2. Dispersal through water: e.g. Water lily or mangrove trees that spread their seeds through water.
