List some types of problems that can be solved using quantitative methods.

Quantitative methods are methods that use formulas and calculations to summarize information(data) for a problem and then a conclusion may be drawn or a decision can be made.

Some of such problems can be as follows:

1) Compare two treatments for the same symptom, such as blood pressure or high cholesterol. Data can be collected from patients who are using these drugs and then can be compared to make a decision about the effectiveness.

2) A claim made by a person or agency can be tested by drawing a sample from the population and testing the value at a set level of reliability, to see if the claim is valid or not.
