The length of the rectengle is 2 feet less three times its w

The length of the rectengle is 2 feet less three times its width, and the perimeter of the rectangle is 36 ft. Find its demensions. Show your work.

Solution

Given

Let length be L

Let the Width be W

Length is 2 feet less than Width,

L = W-2

Given perimeter is 36 ft.

P = 2(l+w) = 36

2(W-2+W)=36

2(2W-2)=36

W-1 = 9

W = 10 feet

L = W-2 = 8feet

The length of the rectengle is 2 feet less three times its width, and the perimeter of the rectangle is 36 ft. Find its demensions. Show your work.SolutionGiven
