The market research department at a manufacturing plant determines that 40% of the people who purchase the plant\'s product during any month will not purchase it the next month. On the other hand, 50% of the people who do not purchase the product during any month will purchase it the next month. In a population of 1000 people, 100 people purchased the product this month. How many will purchase the product next month and in 2 months?

It is given that 40% of the people who purchase the plant\'s product during any month will not purchase it the next month. On the other hand, 50% of the people who do not purchase the product during any month will purchase it the next month. This month , out of 1000, 100 people have purches the manufacturing plant\'s product this month. and 900 people have not purchased the product. Thus 50 % of 900 people( i.e. 450 people) who did not purchase the product this month will puchase it next month. Also, 40 % of 100 people ( i.e. 40 people) who purchased the product this month, will not purchase it next month. It means that of these 100 people, 100 - 40 = 60 people will purchase the product next month. Thus, the total number of people who will purchase the plant\'s product during next month is 450 + 60 = 510. The number of people who will purchase the plant\'s product during 2 months = 40 + 510 = 550.
