What is the difference between saturated and unsaturated fat
Solution
6.Difference between saturated fats and unsaturated fats:
Unsaturated fats are healthier than saturated fats because unsaturated fats have one or more double bonds in the molecules which makes them provide less calories than saturated fats that have no double bonds. Also, unsaturated fats have low melting point that makes them fluid thereby increasing the fluidity of the cell membrane. Moreover unsaturated fats are associated to increase the high density lipoproteins that are good of our health. They also help to decrease the levels of harmful low density lipoproteins or bad cholesterol in our body.
7.Structure of proteins:
The surrounding environment of a protein should reman constant because any change such as ph,ions concentration may lead to protein denaturation and loss of its function.
8.Enzymes are typically protein molecules that are usually refered to as biological catalysts. They work to increase the rate at which a chemical reaction takes place in the cell without themselves being used up in the reaction. They work by lowering the activation energy of the reaction. They function to break down larger molecuels to smaller ones so that they can be easily absorbed by the cells. The enzymes interact with molecules known as substrates at their active site making an enzyme substrate complex that breaks down to give the final products of the reaction.
