You interview a random sample of 50 adults. The results of the survey show that 48% of the adults said they were more likely to buy a product when there are free samples. At = .05, can you reject the claim that at least 57% of the adults are more likely to buy a product when there are free samples?
I understand how to solve this by hand with the formula, but I need help using the TI 84 calculator to solve the question. Please help! :)
Solution
Given
n = 50
p` = 0.48 and therefore we have x = 50*.48, we are testing Alternate hypothesis p<= .57,
In the TI 84 calculator, go to [STAT] button and press [TESTS] choose 5:1-PropZtest. Enter Informtion like
P0 = .57
x = 24
n = 50
and highlight \"<P0\" in the same screen, by default the alpha value is 0.05, therefore press enter to get results including z value, power(beta) and the p value. And press draw to get the standard normal curve that displays the critical region.
