Find the equation of the line passing through the points (-3,-8) and (-6,2). Answer must be in point slope form. Show your work.

Solution

pont slope form :y = mx +c

(-3, -8) and (-6,2)

slope , m = (2 +8)/(-6+3) = 10/-3 = -10/3

y = -10x/3 +c

find c : -8 = -3*-10/3 +c

-8 = 10+c ----> c = -18

y = -10x/3 -18
