For the circuit shown below determine RT I1 I4 Vab SolutionR

For the circuit shown below, determine: R_T I_1 I_4 V_ab

Solution

R6 and R7 are in series. equivalent resistance=10 ohm = R67

R4 and R5 are in parallel. equivalent resistance= 2 ohm=R45

R45 and R3 are in series.equivalent resistance = 10 ohm = R453

R453 and R67 are in parallel. equivalent resistance= 5 ohm = R45367

R45367 and R2 are in series. equivalent resistance = 10 ohm = R453672

R453672 and R1 are in parallel. equivalent resistance= 5 ohm= R_T

R_T = 5 ohm

net current = 50/5 = 10 A=I

I1 = I.R453672/( R453672+R1) = 5 A

I2 = 5 A

I2 will be divided among R67 and R453 .

I3 = I2. R467/(R453+R67) = 2.5 A = I6

I3 will be divided among R4 and R5.

I4 = I3.R5/(R4+R5) = 1.25 A

I4 = 1.25 A

Vab = Va-Vb

Va = 50-R2.I2 - R3.I3 = 50-25-20=5 V

Vb= 50-25-R6.I6 = 25-15 = 10 V

Vab = - 5 V

 For the circuit shown below, determine: R_T I_1 I_4 V_ab SolutionR6 and R7 are in series. equivalent resistance=10 ohm = R67 R4 and R5 are in parallel. equival
