All ice cube is dropped into a hot cup of coffee As the ice
All ice cube is dropped into a hot cup of coffee. As the ice cube melts, the coffee cools down. What happens to the entropy of the coffee, the entropy of the ice cube, and the entropy of the universe? Discuss your results in terms of microscopic interactions.
Solution
Entropy of the cofee decreases as the temp of the cofee falls when the ice drops..
for the ice it will gain the temperature...The entropy will increases...in the microscopic point of view the potential energy changes there may be change in entropy...bcz ice falls from certain height increase in entropy
But entropy of universe always increase
