Solution

For a long time I was looking fordward to apply for the position of operations manager, I knew the company needed one because since I could remember there were always 3 Ops manager and recently one of them had moved into a different company so I figured it would be my chance to apply.

I asked the general manager about it and he mentioned they were not going to hire some one right away, it was going to be a long process and every one interest should apply and follow the process which was fine by me.

2 weeks passed and there were no signs on the opening of the position. When there is an opening the company communicated through intranet.

Then, next monday all the employees get an email saying Mr Lopez was hired for the position, nothing agains Mr Lopez but I had 5 more years of experience, he only had 1 month with the company and he was the nephen of the general manager.

I was really upset because we were told every one would get the opportunity to apply but the process was never opened and Mr Lopez got the position, clearly for his family conextions.

To most employees there was no sense of fairness because no one got the chance to apply for the process.

The issue was that if the general manager already knew the position was going to be given to Mr Lopez he shouldnt tell all other employees to wait because all people will have the same opportunity.
