Determine truth value of the statement. Domain consists of all real numbers. Please explain I do not understand with nested.

a)   xy(x^2 = y)

b) xy(x = y^2)

Solution

a) says that for every x there exists a y, Its True. Since there is only 1 y for every x

b) says that for every x there exists a y, Its False. Since there are no y`s for negative x
