Solution

1. The body tube of the microscope should not be lowered while looking throught he ocular lens because lowering might cause the slide to crack.

2. The microscope can be cleaned using a appropriate tissue paper dipped in week ammonia solution, if it is has sticky material it can be cleaned with xylol.

3. After locating the region of interest on the slide and centering it at 430x, the objective lens has to be raised and a small drop of immersion oil should be carefully placed on oil directly on the slide over the center region of interest. Then the oil immersion objective is positioned carefully and adjusted using coarse focus knob until the lens just makes contact with the oil drop. By focusing throught the ocular lense, the specimen is observed, after which it has to be cleaned.

4. The Binocular stereo microscope allows three dimensional visualizaiton of the sample.
